...new rented accom in 3 weeks? Hello PPL, this is my first post so be gentle...

Ok, we are expecting our first child on 24th July (yay).

We currently live seperately and have given up on the council finding us somewhere, having been on the list for 8 weeks. Eventually we found a place ourselves (private landlord), i paid the £200 deposit today. Another £850 to follow upon moving in (that includes first months rent).

Now to say that im "Skint" would be an understatement. I work full time and my girl friend works part time (shes currently on maternity leave). What financial help can i get? and how do i apply?
 
In the US you would qualify for food stamps, medical care, government housing, lots of things. To apply here for that stuff you would go to the Human Resources in your area.
