It really annoys me when i’m watching a TV program about the universe and their talking about really fascinating things, but then, all of a sudden the narrator says... “as the universe expands further”.... i’m like what the hell!? Where is it expanding to? They never give any further explanation about this and just move on to talk about super novas and stuff.
So... if the universe is expanding then theoretically if I were to jump into my space ship and travel at a speed that was necessary to catch up with the expanding universe, would I eventually reach the end and be able to see the universe expand through my specially designed Ray Bans? And.... if so, if i did actually reach the end of the universe, what would I be looking at in front of me? A brick wall? More emptiness? A ‘SevenEleven’? What? And even if there is something there in front of me, surely there would be something behind it?
I’m just not happy with the explanations i read on line about this online. I need to know!!!
