So I have a 2003 749S with a Termi slip-on exhaust. I have since upgraded to an 05 swingarm and the mid-pipe still fits. My question is what do I need to do now that I have put in a 749R motor with the deep sump. Does anybody know what the difference is between a mid pipe for a regular sump and a deep sump engine? The mid pipe I got with my half system has a bend in it to clear the deep sump and I can actually get it to fit, well sort of fit. The point where the mid pipe and part that bolts to the motor does not fit together that nicely. They do come together and I can put the spring on, but it just looks like there will be a leak when I start it up. Also......the mid pipe rests on the deep sump, no gap between whatsoever, but it is not being stressed against it, just kind of laying on it. Anybody have any suggestions on what to do? Do you gain much by going to a full system on a 749R with no motor work? Does anyone know of a cheaper full system to use? I have already depleted my bank acct pretty heavily to get where I am right now.
