Exfoliating?

I exfoliated my face the other day, now its peeling at my jawline, what does it mean?
I used st.ives apricot scrub
I also cleansed with clinique acne soulutions
 
Scrubs are a harsh way to exfoliate your skin on your face. They work better from the neck down.

If you are looking for an exfoliate for your facial area try an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) if you have drier skin with no blemish/blackhead problems OR a BHA (beta hydroxy acid) if you have oilier/more blemish prone skin.
