I have recently gotten over a really bad flu, during that time I didnt go to the gym, for 2 weeks. I went today and I didnt have problems doing the weights at the same level as last time and did 1 hour cardio. However I could NOT myself, I could only work at a really slow level and there was no why in hell I could do high intensity cardio burst in-between my weights which is what I normally do. After my workout, I was so tired and fatigued I had to go home and have a nap!
I was told it would take me a few weeks to get to my fitness level to what it was before the flu, it this true? and why? it was only 2 weeks off? and why so long?
