I'm 21 and in pretty decent shape; tall, lanky build - 5'11, 145lbs, minimal fat on my body.
However I have a horrible sense of balance and I'm very uncoordinated & clumsy - I didn't play any sports in high school, I got fit purely by running and lifting weights in the last 2 years. I'd also like to improve my lower body flexibility - right now I can barely touch my own toes.
What are some good exercises for improving balance, coordination, and flexibility?
I tried pilates for a summer - bought myself a book on it and followed the exercises on there - but after several months I haven't noticed much improvement at all. I didn't particularly enjoy the exercises either, so I stopped. Should I give pilates another shot, maybe join a class to make sure I'm doing everything right? Or are there alternatives?
