Exercise: Buy a Bike or Buy Personal Training?

I am overweight and need to exercise more-simply moving my body is a good start, not even hard core exercise, because I am prone to depression and never getting out of bed for weeks-months at a time.

I have a gym membership but going to the gym seems like climbing mount everest so I rarely go. I thought if I had a trainer and appointments I would HAVE to go so I'd get my exercise in.

BUT on the other hand pre-depression I used to love bike riding, and I could go for a spin around the neighborhood easier than driving to the gym.

So what do you think? The cost is roughly the same, 400-500 for a good bike, or 500 for about 6 or 7 training sessions but I only want to do one or the other.
