Exchanging myTouch for myTouch w/3.5mm Through Warranty - TMobile?

So here's the problem. I recently purchased a myTouch about 2 months ago at a T-Mobile store. And shortly after they release the myTouch with the 3.5mm headphone jack. Yeah, it'd be nice to have the headphone jack, but what's really annoying is that version of the myTouch (1.2) is upgraded and is faster, has a bigger SD card, and SWYPE texting.

I pay that optional fee for the insurance on the phone monthly that replaces the phone if anythign happens. Does anyone know if I can simply make that insurance claim and replace it with the myTouch 3.5mm? T-Mobile doesn't even carry the older version of the myTouch anymore, so to me this makes sense they'd replace it with the newer model since that's all they have, but of course I'm thinking they'll screw me somehow.

Does anyone work at T-Mobile or knows if this is possible?
