excessive gas and stress

i am 20 and early in the summer i started to notice at certain times i would get ecessively gassy and at the worst times and it would kind of come and go but more recently it has been almost none stop that i have been having excessive gas and it is starting to really make me feel uncomfortable when i hang out with people because if i hold it in it can become uncomfartable and it is ackward if i just let it rip when i am with my friends since they smell pretty bad. i wasn't sure if it has anything to do with how i have been fairly stressed recently and just got over being badly depressed and really stressed out for about a month or what could be causing it and how to prevent it from happening any help would be greatly appriciated
 
Stress can be a major cause of gas because the adrenaline tends to aggravate stomach acids (which are smelly when they come out the other end). Also, check to see what medications or natural supplements you might have started since this began and dietary changes as well.

There are numerous anti-gas preparations over the counter but try starting with Tums which only contains calcium bicarbonate and is actually a good source of calcium. Take one and if you still feel gassy, take a second one 15 minutes later. This has always worked for me. I have irritable bowel syndrome and stress brings on gas for me as well.
