I really want to see this movie.

I saw it briefly when i was little, can't remember much but I have rescently become interested in the life of Eva Peron. I know it is based from the musical that ended a decade back and this movie apparently is one of the best portrayals from stage.

Despite Madonna's acting abilities, it is said this is one of her best acting roles if not the only one.

Anyone else like/seen the movie? :)

I like the film. Usually it's in the cheap offer DVD's. Three for a tenner kind of thing. It takes a bit of getting used to seeing Jimmy Nail in it.
There's also a blink and you'll miss it appearance by one of The Corrs. No idea which one of the girls it is.
It's much better than the direct to video/DVD releases of Cat's and Joseph.
Madonna is ok, but forgetable in the lead role.

I love it, best thing Alan Parker's put his name to IMO. The period and trappings are richly evocative and the film really does feels like an 'epic', whilst I found the sung dialogue throughout frequently emotion-stirring - rousing and plaintive by turns. You do need to see it big and loud though.

Would gladly watch it just to see if Madonna's golden globe was deserved. I have looked at her history of movies and in total fact her movie career was a flop. This and another movie or 2 were only successful.

I love this film, the one and only film that Madonna acts quite well in (she does very well in the
death
scene).

Fun songs, sad songs, tap your feet songs all telling a good story throughout, it certainly takes pride of place in my top 50 collection. :)
