Hello helpful people. I'm down to 5mg librium and trying to get off completely. Does anyone know if it's OK to split a librium capsule? THANKS.

i dont know a lot about that particular med ...
BUT if that med is a time release type - do NOT break it or you will get really ill or worse, as too much med will be released into your system at once, which is super dangerous.
I would either call your doctor... or call a pharmacist and tell them EXACTLY what med you are thinking of splitting. IMO - pharmacists tend to be an excellent source of finding out about medicine safety etc since they deal with drugs all day long. I'd speak to an expert before splitting it. It's not worth the risk. I had to call a pharmacist for advice before i got on a plane didn't know if two drugs interacted (benedryl and valium) and couldn't reach my doctor. They were very helpful. good luck and please be careful!
