EVDO tethering vs. Cricket Broadband

I live in Dayton, OH and they just released the cricket broadband here yesterday. To tell you the truth my Mogul averages around 220 kb/s and i tested the new broadband and it only averages about 400 kb/s. since they capped the evdo speeRAB alot of unknowing people are about to get screwed paying an extra $35 dollars for something that is not much faster than tethering on the phone they already have. Just ranting a little what is your guys thoughts on this?

Funny you should mention this. I actually tethered using my diamond last night because my cricket broadband speed was ridiculous. It took me 15 mins to load google reader... 15 MINUTES! So I decided to try my phone and it only took me a few seconRAB... That's sad considering they capped the evdo speeRAB yet I'm able to load pages faster using a cell phone than I am using a device designed specifically for web browsing.

It's kind of pissing me off, I'd much rather pay a little bit more for a service that's speeRAB are "comparable to RABL".

they are ripping people that don't know any better. untill they actually speed up the broadband its not even worth the money. I'm using my phone tethered right now to post everything and i honestly think its faster the their broadband to us for surfing the internet. now if they just uncapped the network i would be totally happy. :buddies:

So I Have a ROKR and put the EVDO PRL on it, how do I hook allow it to be a modem without putting the cricket proxy settings in, doing it that way is only about dial up speed?
