I don't know much about phones so I'm a little stuck as to what phone to choose with my "New Every Two" upgrade options. We have the "America's Choice II 450" plan, $39.99 per month.
First off, I need to be able to connect the phone to my laptop to get Internet access on the road. With our current phone (the v710) I can connect via the USB cable and use the Internet at no extra charge beyond the minutes used. Does it still work this way, or do I need to take this into account when choosing a phone?
Second, we travel across some pretty desolate places occasionally (like across Wyoming). Is a tri-mode phone still important to get the most reliable coverage?
Third, assuming a tri-mode phone is what we get, can we get one with EV-DO capabilities for faster Internet access in EV-DO areas?
Fourth, we'll want a phone with a headset jack as I don't care for bluetooth and will likely disable it, if possible, on any phone we get.
Finally, I'm confused about "BroadbandAccess." Some sources indicate this requires an extra $15.00 per month, while other sources indicate it's free. And is this for Internet access on the phone itself (which I don't need), or is it for broadband (EV-DO?) speeds while using the phone as a modem?
I think those are all the features that are important to us. Basically just reliable coverage and being able to use the phone as a modem. What would some good options be for me to consider?
Thanks,
Matthew
