How did food surpluses resulting from the domestication of plants and animals jump-started the process of building more complex European societies?

Please help, I need info for an essay but I tried looking for this and I couldn't find any information! If you can answer this or give me some sites to where I can find this information please do. Thanks!

Basically, the domestication of plants and animals created food surpluses. Before this time, most (if not all) members of a community had to be involved in food collection. In addition, the amount of territory required for a given number of people to sustain themselves as hunter/gatherers meant that communities had to remain small to remain sustainable. Once food surpluses became available, some members of each community were able to dedicate their time to other efforts, like artistry, smithing, ropemaking, etc. Additionally, the domestication of plants and animals allowed previously nomadic and semi-nomadic hunter/gatherers to settle down on one spot and spurred population growth. Because of all of this, communities became more complex- physically, socially, and economically.

Hope this helps.
