Europcar charge me £600 on a pitted left wing, is that fair?
Hi everyone, It's a question about car-damage-surchage from a car-renting company
last month i returned the cheapest VAUXHALL that I hired from Europcar branch in Gateshead
several days later they sent me a surchage notice saying I shall pay £600 because of some damage on the left wing(which i didn't notice when i was returning it).
I just don't get it, how come a left wing will be this expensive? Do you guys have any idea if they are just blackmailing me??
Here's a picture of that car (http://cars.cozot.co.uk/coches/uk/2010/02/10/10705.jpg)
Besides, by the time I returned the car, the only damages I noticed were two small scratches on its left back door. I informed the staff about this but he didn't even go out to evalute the car.
actually, i don't even think that it's me who caused the damage!
so, is that possible for me to reject the surcharge because they didn't check the car before I left?
Any advices will be appreciated!
