Bandai announced that the English dubbed version of Eureka Seven: good night, sleep tight, young lovers, is coming to theatres for one night only.

Eureka Seven movie event!

Anyone interested? I think I'll go, even though it's dubbed.

Can someone tell me, after the TV show failed harder than the lead, is Eureka 7 getting such a push? I mean, why? What is the point?

That's pretty cool. I'll try to catch the airing but I'm not going to promise myself that I will. I still haven't watched some of the movies that I want to watch this summer.

That was quick. I'm sure it won't be anywhere near me, but that's still great news for the people who can go. The best part for me is that it's already dubbed and with extras, so the DVD should be out before long.

Hopefully, cause as much as I would love to see this in theatres...I probably won't get to. I don't think my upcoming college schedule will be that friendly, not to mention the closest theatre that hosts fhantom events is 2-hours away from where I live. Why the heck can't anime companies make there movies wide releases like the pokemon ones were back in the day. I miss being able to see anime on the Silver Screen.

But Either way, I can't wait to see the movie, the remake of the story sounRAB very interesting.

Yes, because the fact that it's Eureka Seven is the only reason it has such a limited release... Not even Naruto and Bleach were much better off, and E7 is actually in more theaters than the first Naruto movie was. Anime in general doesn't seem to justify that type of investment unless the director's name is Miyazaki.

I'm in no way implying that Eureka Seven was a huge hit or anything, but I also doubt it did as poorly as you seem to think it did. They never would have bothered licensing, dubbing, and releasing the movie in theaters if it had. That's quite a bit of money to throw away on a supposed borab.

Eureka Seven is a well-liked series by a significant audience of people. Of course, a lot of people also hate the series because of its slow start and its whiny protagonist (though said protagonist gets over himself halfway through). E7 is a anime built around storytelling, where every detail is carefully handled with care, and Renton and Eureka's romance is pure and special in a way we all want our love to be. The animation is stellar, the environments creative, and the characters dynamics witty and fun.

Even its music is composed with utmost care. The 8 OPs/ERAB are carefully chosen and fit the series well. The electronica insert songs are composed by Japan's finest techno/electronica artists. And the rest of the BGM is performed by live musicians.

Even though E7 is something of a "hippie anime" it is a fun and emotional ride. Just because not everyone can get into it doesn't mean the show sucks by default.

The only other option these days is typically art house/indie theatres or extremely limited locales, such as three or four US cities total, all of which would be much harder than Fathom Events.
