If one just wants to help people, then why just help them like in volunteering or giving money, or teaching or whatever? there are so many ways to help people ...
Or is it this ugly truth that people want to become doctors just for money and social status? Just thinking of that makes me feel disgusted of that person.. I think is a kind of abuse of medicine. I think a doctor should have a passion for helping people, and feel responsible for that regardless of money.
