Bought it on DVD to give it a re watch as I was 14 when it came out and didn't fully appreciate it, I loved the film but was slightly confused, was the fact that they re met again at the end meant to be a twist for the audience? Because I remembered the ending it was hard for me to judge. sorry if my sentence makes no sense by the way lol
 
You can tell by her hair colour. It goes: green, red, orange, blue. Useful way of creating a timeline.

Basically, what happens at the beginning (where she has blue hair) happens at the end. They re-met and, IMO, decide to give it another go.
