Essential Software

After much research I finally made the decision and purchased the TX. I have read many post on different forums regarding various software choices for the TX. Some like Filez seem to be essential software. I would be interested in some informed input from this knowledgeable group as to what software is important to be installed on a new TX to get the best operation.

First and formost visit the TX Software Compatibility list and install only tested programs. I do suggest you install everything possible on your SD card. The more room you have on the TX the better it will browse the net. No matter what you hear I have 70 meg free and I have not had a problem whatsoever browsing or getting email and all my software is TX compatible. I have only had resets when required after installing some software. Decide what you want to do with your TX and get the compatible software you desire. The TX requires no other software to improve its performance just enhance your experience. I myself suggest Northglides Uninstall Manager. Install what you want and if you don't like it Uninstall Manager will remove all portions of a program and leave no remaining files to clutter the TX. I also use Bckup Buddy VSF with Desktop option. I can backup to the SD card and the TX and card are also backed up to the PC. I also use REsco Explorer. I can download zip files right to the TX and install software with its zip file capabilities. Wifi Where helps you find hotspots and open connections you can get on too. Wifi Where canbe interesting, walk into just about any place of business and start a scan. You'll be amazed at what you find. :D

Bottom line, enjoy! You will have fun.

Thanks for the link to the compatability list. Great information. I guess my major concern is about utility software. As an example, you mention Uninstall Manager, I remember reading that this is important software to have and it was pointed out that this needs to be installed before you start adding programs to be effective. I just want to stay out of traps like that. Some forums have also suggested to add programs one at a time to test compatability.
