This Yahoo Answer forum could be grafted on to an essay about Hitler. I do not have stats to back this up but a casual observer will tell you that the American Civil War and Adolf Hitler are the two top topics of interest and both are subject to gross distortions of history. People answer Hitler questions in order to promote Gay bashing, Jew bashing, the idea that Hitler was a military genius, the notion that Hitler did something wonderful & profound fr the German economy, and other matters all at odds with the facts.
So there is an essay topic for you.
Why, when History, the very fact that Germany lost World War Two with her cities in ruins her armed forces shredded her economy in tatters, why with all the evidence that Hitler was AN IDIOT, why is Hitler still fervently worshipped, not on ly does he fascinate, which as a historian I can understand, but Adolf Hitler still provokes HERO WORSHIP. Hitler with his twisted notions, perverted sence of history, ineptness as a strategic & tactical military leader, why does Hitler still garner accolades & praise?
And in the wake of Stalin, Pol Pot, and Saddaam Hussein, Hitler remains the all purpose villain, the yardstick for evil. Another essay topic for you to ponder.
