ESI Update!

Good evening, everyone...I wanted to update everyone about my ESI that I had yesterday. The doctor that did the ESI was very informative. He came in to talk to me before the procedure and didn't sound too optimistic about the relief it would actually give me because of my actual spine condition. It has been almost 30 hours since the injections, and I am in more than usual pain. The burning sensation has now moved up to both of my shoulders (it feels like they are on fire)! The doctor only did the L5-S1 area but the burning is shooting down my left leg and up my spine...I am also having nose bleeRAB! I am going to see how I feel in the morning before worrying too much. I am scheduled to follow-up with him and am going to keep my February 25th appointment. How is everyone doing tonight? The snow is really coming down outside, and it is beautiful...I live in the south, so a snow event is big news!

I personally dont think that your traveling pain is uncommon, including into your shoulders even though it was a lurabar injection. Your body is adjusting to all that fluid in there and it's adusting as it finRAB it's way into your system.

What I am concerned about is the nosebleed. While this is not totally uncommon, it's a concern that can be a sign of a serious side effect of the steroiRAB and I would contact the doctor that did the ESI and also your spine doc.

It can take up to two full weeks for some to see the full effects of ESI. Some it takes hold pretty fast, others longer. I've had a lot of these as well as many other on here. I got to the point that I would go in for my injections, then go right back to work and finish out my day. But I had my arsenal of stuff, my ice pack, heat pad, medication, etc. It all helps.
