I am new to this stuff but I have a question. My boobs have been hurting me and I am supposed to start my period on Friday. I got a Equate (Walmart brand) pregnancy test and it came up as negative. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else? We have been trying for 3 months and I am usually very fertile. Please help

I've used every brand out there including Equate. I believe in generic brands for everything and anything except for pregnancy tests and condoms!

It takes about 2 weeks after a missed period before it will show up on a home pregnancy test and 5 days after to show up if you go to the doctor and get one.

Any brand of pregnancy test will give you the same answer. Whether you spend 18 dollars on a clear blue or get one from the dollar store. They're all made to read your hormone levels and let you know if you're pregnant or not. Also, if you buy the equate ones, I'd get a box that has two in it so you have the option to test a few days later if the first one says neg. Good luck and God bless!

I would really go to the doctors asap and have a blood test done. Hope all goes well and if you are pregnant congrats.

I had an equate test come up negative every week for the first 7 weeks of my pregnancy, until I went to the doctor and got a blood test done. I also used EPT tests, Clearblue (i think is the name), and every other brand imaginable. 3/24 were positive, and i'm almost 14 weeks pregnant now with twins. Save money- go to your doctor!

Give it a few days and try again. It might have been too soon. If it still comes up negative wait until your period if you miss it then retest or just make a doctors appointment and have them do the test for you.

Yeah, my Equate pregnancy tests came up negative when I wasn't pregnant.

But it came up positive when I was pregnant. I would say it's just as accurate as others.
