hi, i work for a local authority and have been aware for some time that councils up and down the u.k have been paying compensation to some staff members that have historically not been payed bonuses.
two neighbouring authorities have just settled with most their employees (some in similar jobs to mine have walked away with £17,000 tax free).
our union payed us a visit a couple of weeks ago and told us that our council was not going to make compensation offers to us, saying that the council says their bonus scheme is fare
the union is taking it further, but what hope have we got?
has anyone else been in or know of anyone that has been in a similar situation to me? and what was the outcome
thanks
