epidural

hi all I got a date for my epidural can anybody tell me how this works and if it will help the pain gets very bad at times I just can't cope:confused:

It is similar to the other types of injections, if you've had those. They gave me a sedative that actually put me to sleep. They also nurab the area they are going to inject. They make several injections. It is a very short process and takes no time at all. The process itself was not bad at all. I was REALLY sore for a few days at the injection sites. But afterwarRAB, I really felt better. The pain actually went away for a while. Unfortunately for me, it didn't last long. It was probably only a few weeks. But, I have heard that a lot of people get pain relief for up to six months. Hope this is the case for you!

I'm new to the boarRAB, but I just had my third epidural steroid shot last Friday. My shots helped the pain more and more with each one, but the 2nd only lasted about 2 1/2 weeks before the pain came back. The shots aren't too bad, the worst part for me was when they put the medicine in. I was not given any sedatives, I wish I had been! Ask them to put the medicine in sloowwwwwww! Finally, after 2 shots with horrible pain when they put in the medication (pain that mimics the pain you've probably already been having), the final resident said to ask in the future that they put the meRAB in slowly. This was, the pain is MUCH more tolerable! Overall, it's really not that bad, and it's over FAST! I hope you get more pain relief than I did/am!
