EPG has Little or no Info

Yep, learn lots of stuff here every day. Thanks for bearing with my feeble attempts at humour, while also trying to help.
 
You don't honestly think you were trying to help with the post to which I responded, do you? If so, the humour quotient was truly amazing, and I thank you for all your help and the great laughs.

I know that we haven't talked much on here but from your few posts it seems your humour is always at another's expense. But hey, different comedians have their own methods. I'm usually more of the self-depricative type, especially when I don't know the person I'm talking with.
 
You know Max, I never thought of the N3 thang. And, like a dolt, I forgot to turn off the set last night. Have to give it a go tonight and see how it behaves.
 
I tried using a plug in timer to make sure the receiver got shut off every night. It didn't help.
 
I'm not always here but I don't think it gets turned off very often. So therefore it's not upgrading...duh! Thanks Pinza. I'll make sure it's off tonight.
 
Yep, it needs to be OFF to download the Guide and any updates it requires.

If you need to refresh the Guide right now, just pull the Smart Card, until you see the System Info Screen, then re-insert it. It will restart and download the guide for you.
 
Thanks, Pinza. Reinserting did it. Still missing the info on a couple of channels as per usual, but working as good as it ever did.

FYI - Common basic questions are often already asked and answered. Often you can search on a topic such as "epg information not available" and find a similar posting with the same question and usually an answer.
 
I did a search on "guide", "on screen guide" and the error messages. Never heard of the abbreviated EPG until now. So I did try.
 
No worries, that's what the mods are for. Just wanted to point out some of the terms that could be used in the future :) It's all about learning.
