It's killing me, everymorning I wake up knowing that we're destroying the world and no matter how I try and make my carbon footprint small there will never be enough of us to make a difference and despite us being the most selfish species on earth we're still in charge, how do you's live with the sadness and rage at knowing this?

I live on by understanding that we are NOT destroying the world.
after we're gone, the planet will be just fine.
New species will rise up to fill the nitch of the ones who die from the changes we are causing.

The planet will shake us off like a bad case of fleas and keep going on.
What we *are* doing is making the environment that we require to live inhospitable.
So we are not killing the planet, just ourselves.

dunno. The perfect environmentalist understands overpopulation is the culprit. So should they advocate euthanasia or other forms of population control?

i found this helped;

but there are lots of us, and growing every day!

talking to other like minded people helps loads. i have been much more cheerful since i started chatting on a few green forums e.g.
http://greenhome.huddler.com/forum/

taking local action; i have just joined the 'greening' campaign,
http://www.greening-campaign.co.uk/About.html
which hopefully will eventually link our villages and market town to the transition town movement

and getting outside. you can do a lot more than you think, but even growing a bit of salad gladdens the heart out of all proportion to the material benefit.

feel free to email me if you want to chat.

I'm more saddened at the number of unborn babies that are killed everyday in the name of selfishness.
