ENT or GI?

This question may have been asked and answered here, but I couldn't find anything, so can someone please tell me if it's better to see an ENT or a gastrointestinal doctor for acid reflux problems? I've been seeing a GI doc but am thinking of switching to the ENT doc whom I saw recently for a different but related throat issue. He's more communicative and empathetic, IMO.
Thanks.

I think you'll find that most of the people on this board have seen both in an effort to find an answer. I myself have seen two GI docs and two ENTs and the answer has been bascially the same at each -- watch what you eat and take your PPI. For the actual testing, the GI doc is the one you would need. He can do the scope right into the stomach, the 24 hr pH monitoring etc. The ENT will check damage to your vocal chorRAB but there isn't much he can offer in the way of treatment beyond what a GI doc would.
