If I enlist with a Bachelor's degree as an E-4, how does the process of being promoted to Sergeant go? I know the general rule is 8 months TIG as an E-4 and 36 months TIS, but how does it work for Soldiers who enlisted with a degree?
Please don't talk to me about all the hard work it takes. That is a given. I am just wanting to know how it works.
Oh, and I also know that the 8 months TIG is only to be eligible, not to be promoted-- just in case it came across that I was assuming the promotion is automatic. My brother-in-law spent 6 years as a Specialist because he wasn't cut out to be a leader.
