I went to enlist in the Marines in 07 while a senior in H.S. but was held back due to a needed consult for past self harm. The Marine recruiter didnt want to work with me anymore although i was told i could easily get in just by a doctor saying im okay. Earlier this year i spoke to an Army recruiter and he told me they arent accepting waivers at this time but if i were to wait until Nov, which is 2 years since the last time i went, that i can go in and do my physical all over again and get in without needing a waiver.
So in Nov, when i go to enlist in a branch, would i need to tell them i had tried enlisting before? Or should i not say anything since it would have already been 2 years?
I would like to be honest though. I was held back the first time because i had some old self harm scars. I dont do that anymore, havent in over 2 years, and am fine mentally. Im just worried i will not be let in if i choose to tell because i am interested in Coast Guard also and know they have high restrictions.
