i was DX with a Enlarged spleen this past friday too, i have no clue on what this organ does and how do i get it down too any advice would be very helpful
The spleen is like a big sponge, it filters out old broken down red/white blood cells and lets shiny new ones pass through. If your spleen is enlarged it may "scrub" too much and take out some new blood cells along with the old - this can lead to anemia. Many people have an enlarged spleen with little or no symptoms.
Treatment depends on what's causing your spleen to enlarge.
