I recently had a baby girl in September. In October, I had some tests done from complications after an emergency c-section. This included an abdominal ultrasound and CBC.
OCTOBER 2009
In the abdominal ultrasound, everything was normal. Spleen: Length 7.3, Width 3.6
CBC: WBC - 7.6
JANUARY 2010
I had another abdominal ultrasound for another, unrelated medical issue. Spleen size: Length 13.3, Width 4.1
CBC: WBC - 4.3 (Major decrease in Granuloyctes, everything else more or less the same)
What could this indicate? During my pregnancy I had several CBC and my WBC was always between 5.5 and 8.5. .Is the decrease over the last few months a significant concern even though I am on the edge of ''normal'' WBC range? This is clearly not normal for me....and of course I have the enlarged spleen to go along with it.
I have an appointment with a Hematologist...but until then...any thoughts? I don't want to be overcome with anxiety...
Thanks!
