I'm taking a class at a community college and I've always had a problem with spelling things like liter, meter and theater, I always change it to re when I'm not focused on thinking about it. Is it considered improper spelling if I spell it this way?
But wouldn't they mean the same things, just be spelled different? I don't see how theatre and theater are different or metre and meter or litre and liter.
