I have to do an essay about english immigration to the US between 1865-1900, and about the importance of ellis island. help I've been looking for information for days, i need the links from where you took the info, and if you took it from a book the name of the book with pages, please. I apreciate your help
 
Ellis Island itself has a lot of information. It's the first source below.

Be aware that Ellis Island was only open for the last eight years of your time frame. Immigrants who came to New York between 1830 and 1892 were processed at Castle Garden. It's the second source below.

If you want to search on the Ellis Island site, you have to register, but it's free and really cool, if you're into genealogy.
