English Bulldog in California with Limited Registration Status-Help!?

After 2 years of personal contacts, phone calls, and e-mails did we just receive our females' English Bulldog AKC papers from our breeder. We paid $1800 and it was made clear to the breeder we wanted to breed our female at least once, if possible. I was told no problem and felt protected that her contract does NOT mention spaying/neutering and limited registration. One note the contract does not state our bulldog is AKC, (is it necessary?), but personally saw/told I would get a form that resembled the one that we were told we would get after our second check cleared a week later. She stated we could not have the papers that day, which I did not expect to, due to the fact she needed to protect herself financially. That is understandable. Finally, after many excuses, (e-mails to prove it), I put my foot down and demanded to have the papers within 48 hours or I would contact AKC and go to court over it, if necessary. She was angered by my threats and marked "limited" on our AKC paperwork and e-mailed me stating my threats mean nothing and I don't know what I'm talking about and she mailed them out the day before. Well, the postmark/certified date on the envelope proves she did NOT mail them a day earlier, but the same day she sent me a response back that I told her she had 48 hours and out of spite, we feel, marked the "limited" box because we were desperate and she knew why we wanted them so badly. We had a male already lined up and our female was close to starting her fourth cycle. We did contact AKC and they sent her a letter asking to see if she would lift the limited to full status. In the state of California, does a contract have to state we need to spay/neuter if Full registration is being asked for? Is paying $1800 for a "limited" registration fair? We feel it is not, and would not have paid that kind of money if we could not have at least a litter that was fully registerable. She does state she "had our papers," but misplaced them, but just found them again. So that does show some proof, we expected papers. Do I have a leg to stand on in small claims? We will not give our bulldog up, but want at least this resolved to full status with breeding rights or some money back. We do not know what would be a fair price to ask for and feel by asking other breeders and buyers with some knowledge, it would help our case, if we are found to have one. Any assistance would be appreciated.
