Planning on swapping the engine on my 2000 Toyota Celica GTS with one from a new 2011 Lotus Elise (same engine, 2ZZGE). My question is, will the same ECU thats currently on my car work with the newer engine? The reason is I believe the newer engines ECU have CAN bus along with OBDII whereas
my car only has OBDII ECU. Will this work? (The new engine comes with electronics, wiring attached already)
Another question, what is a good $ amount to pay for such swap? Currently I'm being quoted around 1K$ dollars, but not sure if thats too much for a engine swap (new engine has transmission already bolted on, simple R&R)
Thanks for your time
