My car is a little bit of a bugger normally, but last night it started smoking excessively. It was white, kind of like I had gone through a huge puddle (but didn't). It starts smoking about 10 min after I start driving. There was a really bad, sharp smell coming as well. I did not see anything dripping onto the ground. I am planning on calling a mechanic, but can anyone give me a better idea of what's going in?
The temperature gauge did not change, it was normal. The smoke is coming out of the engine bay, mostly out of the drivers side under the wheel.
