I've run HD oil which I don't like at all, I've run Mobil1 which is my 2nd choice, I know guys that run other oils also, but I like Amsoil better than all the rest, if a oil turns a little dark that doesn't mean it's not working, send it off for a test, does it smell burnt or does it feel gritty or not as slick as it was when it was put in, thats what sold me on Amsoil was it was as slick when I took it out as it was when I installed it, there nothing wrong with other oil brands it's just choices that we all make, personally I have had good luck with Amsoil, my trannys shift better and were quieter than any of the others that I tried, and every one of my freinds that I told of Amsoil tried it and love it for the same reason, most oils will turn in color but I've heard that if they don't there not working to clean carbon and sludge away from internal parts, a great site for oil info is bobistheoilguy.com, you can look at UOA's until your eye's cross.
