Endoscopy (A little confused)

Hi there, just a quick question on an endoscopy. I visited a specialist for my various heart burn related symptoms, he has scheduled an endoscopy in the next few weeks, now I clearly told him I had lower stomach pain also (Stabbing pains, behind belly button kinda region)

My question is, how far down into the body can the camera crew go down, am I wrong in thinking that if I have pain in the intestine area then a camera crew up the uncomfortable way is the only way to see problems? Or is it possible for the camera to go right the way through the stomach into the intestines.

If not then should I contact the Dr and ask him for the fun time camera?

Endoscopy is a scope that goes into the esophagus, stomach and they can view a small portion of the small intestine...but they can not go through the small intestine, let alone the large intestine. The large intestine is done with colonoscopy, and the only way to vies the small intestine is with the Pillcam SB (small bowel).
Whenever you have reflux they want to check out your esophagus. If your pain is lower than you need to call your dr and find out what his/her reason is. You may need another test to address that issue. Some Dr's want to scope people as a way to make money....I know its wrong, but not everyone is on the up and up. I just did the pill cam ESO (for the esophagus) and it is truly a piece of cake..and really cool! The small bowel pillcam is the same, except they record the data for 10 hours or so.
