End Plate sclerosis

Hi there, I have had DDD in L4 and L5 for about 30 yrs but it has gradually gotten worse over the years. The latest xray has said that it is advance stages of DDD with very marked reduction in disc spacing and an increase in end plate sclerosis. My question is what does end plate sclerosis mean. I am on Gabapentin,Lyrica and Amytriptoline. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. My doctor said that my xray must be very remarkable to see. LOL!!
