My 2 year contract ended on September 11 and I have not done anything about renewing. I have not been all that happy with the service. My local internet company is in the process of wireing my town with fibre and plans on offering television service in the spring. Therefore I would prefer to wait and see how this service is before recomitting with Bell. My question is will Bell allow me to continue on a month to month basis until I decide which way to go. Also will I be able decrease the number of channels I now receive without signing a new contract.

Once your contract ends, you're generally free of it, unless you decide to enter into another contract to receive discounted pricing. However, the incentives they've been offering lately are without conditions, i.e. no new contracts. It wouldn't hurt to ask them what they have in the way of offers, and yes you can change your programming without entering into another contract.

You will automatically continue on with your current features indefinitely until you make a change. You don't have to sign a new contract to do so. However, the amount you pay won't remain constant.

You'll likely see a jump in your first bill after your contract is up and you won't be insulated against future price increases as long as you are without a contract.

There are pros and cons to being under contract, so it is up to the individual. Seeing as you would like to have the option of switching in the near future, going without a contract sounds like it may have more benefits for you, since you won't be able to get out of it early without paying a hefty penalty.

I disagree. I would not expect any change in cost. Bell (at least in the past) typically doesn't modify your cost unless you make a programming change when they may request you move to current rates.

Even on a contract, some of the charges can be increased.
