This song helped me get out of a long spout of self pity after I had lost 2 people that were very close to me.
This is the last song on the Eels 2nd album called Electro-shock Blues and considering Mark Everett wrote the album while his mother died of lung cancer and his sister had just committed suicide it is a very sad album, but all the better that this is the last song on the album... In fact I had bought the album to indulge my self pity and what a surprise it was when this song came on. It will always remind me of the day I began to pick up my pieces

"Right Here, Right Now" by Jesus Jones helped me through a really tough time when I was in my early teens. The lyrics are about the fall of the Berlin wall but somehow they also really work in a more general uplifting way for me.
"Hoover Dam" by Sugar is another one that's helped me through some tough times. I don't know what it is about that song exactly but I just find it incredibly uplifting.
