Encore / Numb

I thought the idea of Linkin Park and Jay-Z coming together was cool. It fused 2 different genres and the result was pleasing to the ears.

I'm curious what OTers think about it. Care to share?

eh. LP already fuses rock & rap. it wasn't really that far off. just someone else rapping, basicly.
cypress hill & others have done it for years...

i only listen to rap so i don't like linkin park much, and i'm not too big of a jay z fan either. but i really like this for some reason

my favorite song on there is Jigga What/ Faint mainly because that's my favorite of the jay verses they used

they cross a lot of barriers. but the typical is numetal, raprock, or poprock. whatever you wanna call them. my point is, they rap in most of their songs. having jayz rap on their songs isin't anything that different or groundbreaking for anyone, even them.

anyone remember the movie judgement night?
the soundtrack (back in 1993) had helmet with house of pain, slayer with ice-t, faith no more with booya tribe, biohazard with onyx, sonic youth with cypress hill, mudhoney with sir mix a lot, pearl jam with cypress hill, etc

now THAT was fusing different genre's.

I liked the first song on the album, Lying from you/Dirt off your shoulder, but the album pretty much went to shit after that. I can understand the idea of fusing rap and rock, but this album was just not well executed.
