Encapsulated Cyst on Carotid Artery

I just had an encapsulated cyst removed from my carotid artery patch which was done five years ago. They haven't analyzed the bacteria yet (probably staph) but the doctors didn't seem to know much about them. Two of the doctors had seen one before. Can you tell me anything about them or the prognosis? I am on home IV for three weeks and then pills for several months. Does that mean I still have bacteria floating around or is that a precaution? I think they did things right - I have a very sore neck but surprizingly the redone carotid incision is not nearly as painless as the original one. Mostly curious.
