Emmerdale going HD??

I heard on here ages ago that they was filming Emmerdale in HD but as to date we still have not seen it show in HD so does anyone know when it will be on screen in HD?
 
They haven't started filming in HD- they just replaced the cameras with new ones which were HD capable (but they're still filming the show in SD). A lot of places reported that the show was going HD, but it's not true
 
Any news on when it'll move to HD? It's been filmed in HD for the last 6 months and yet still has not been shown in HD, what's going on?
 
The irony is Emmerdale was possibly the first to use HD ready cameras but will be the last soap to go out in HD.

Hollyoaks was the first a couple of years ago. Coronation Street went HD in the Summer. Neighbours and Home Away (which were already HD in Australia) starting going out in HD here in the summer. And now East Enders has just rebuilt the sets to make them fit for HD and will launch apparently before Christmas - possibly even in the next few weeks (with BBC 1 HD seemingly possible to come as early as 3 November when there are major BBC transponder changes just announced).

Oh, and Holby City launches in HD next Tuesday.

So despite all the investment reported above Emmerdale will be last out of the traps.
 
I might be a bit thick here - but why the necessity to rebuild such as the Queen Vic in EE/ The Tardis for DW for HD?
What about the rest of Albert Square etc?
Emmerdale aren't going to build a new village simply 'cos its going HD are they! It'll cost them a fortune. :confused:
 
Here is the truth;
Emmerdale have had Ikegami HD studio cameras since July 2008, we are still acquiring the pictures in SD, the studios are SD, the post prod is SD, Location is shot on Sony DVW790, SD camcorders.
It will become HD after we move into our new home Kirkstall Road in 2011. The date for this is not yet in the public domain
