And quit being a smart ass, more is more. In general, diesel has more. Since they are two completely different designs you cant say diesel has X more NOx emissions.
EGR does nrabroad
cycle exhaust to burn off extra fuel, that's what the catalytic converter is for. EGR cycles exhaust back into the intake so there are more inert gases, thus less fuel and oxygen, thus lower combustion temperatures, thus less NOx formation.
