Emergency room cost $723! Is there a law to protect the patients from the hospital...

...charging anything they want Recently my wife went to the emergency room because she stepped on a piece of glass. She managed to stop the bleeding and she told the people at the hospital that it was not urgent at all. She got her foot x-rayed and dermabonded. Now I get this F*cking bill of $932 bucks!!!!!! $209 for the x-ray and $723 bucks for the emergency room. Are you F*cking kidding me?!? How can they charge that much? And if they had a minor emergency room we could not find it at all because there was so much construction going outside the hospital! She did not have health insurance at the time because she just quit her job because she was a week away from leaving to boot camp.

Is there a law to protect the patients from the hospital charging so f*cking much?????????
