Emergency cut wound help!?

Last sunday I cut my thumb open and the cut was behind the nail and at the side of the thumb, and I went into the hospital to get it looked at, they disinfected it and put a few butterfly stitches on and medical glue, and bandaged it me up. I went on holiday and had the bandage changed every day and I took it off today like the hospital said and the cut hasn't healed, it's stopped bleeding but the wound is still open and scabby, and there's a lump on the end of my thumb, I dont think I cut the part where the lump was though
