Emails and Active Standby

Hey everyone! My friend just got an E62 from cingular and as I'm the phone consultant, I'm in charge of these questions. There are several screenshots of the E61 that shows email messages on the home screen (Active standby) but we can't figure out how to do it on his E62 (or my N73 for that matter). Is this something that only the E61 can do and is disabled or not supported on the 73 or 62?
 
The E series should be able to do it, but the N series can not. The setting is somewhere in the Message options, not in the Active Standby settings. I'd post it, but I don't have the E70 anymore.
