I just got this email from "yahoo-account-services-us @cc.yahoo-inc.com" :

Subject: How to reset your Yahoo! password

Dear [my name],

On September 07, 2010, at 04:35 pm, your account activity shows that you tried to recover your account password for Yahoo! ID xx************* (the ID is partially hidden for your protection). You may reset your password on September 08, 2010, after 04:35 pm by answering the secret question you chose for your account.

For security reasons, the secret question will expire on September 14, 2010, at 04:35 pm.

Not you? Simply sign in to your account, and we will continue to hide the option to reset your password by answering your secret question. Please update you password-reset info. If you forget your password in the future, we will use this information to help you reset it.

If you believe your account has been compromised, please change your password now. Choose a strong password.

Regards,
Yahoo! Account Services

I never requested a password reset (or any of the above). What also makes this email seem legitimate however is that it came with the little purple Yahoo! icon that that appears beside the email address whenever Yahoo! emails you.

Is this a scam email trying to get my login information? Or is someone actually trying to log into my email?

Yes i did try to get a new password on my yahoo account but i didn't get any help at all. Even this stuff you call help here is not help at all. You need to help people in a good way like when they say they have forgot their password you need to carry them straight to their security questions where they can answer them and help them get their password back , instead of trying to make things harder on them.
