I am so confused, I just got my 8100 and signed up for the 1000 + unlim nights/weekend and the $20 unlimited internet. Do I have to pay more to use email and to get a tmo blackberry email address? When I go through the steps it says it's $5.99 a month. I never heard anything about this, am I missing something?

When you get a voice plan and blackberry internet service they take $10 off. I am not positive, but I am guessing you have blackberry exchange for $35, if you had a voice plan you could get it for $25.

Ok, thanks for the info dfc, that makes sense with what I saw when I went to t-mobile support. I try and go to mytmobile and it says my number is not yet in the system. I guess it is not registered, so it thinks I don't have that service since it sees nothing. A little annoying, and something they should warn you about, but not a big deal. I guess this is partly because I ordered my phone overnight from amazon, took less than 24 hours to have it in my hands!

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~it should already be included on the $20 data plan. I will call customer service if I were u. Or maybe that $5.99 is for ur insurance. Call them to make sure.

Nah, I think it's just what DFC said, it is just going to take a little time for it to all work because my account is literally not even 24 hours old. In fact, I didn't get the email from amazon.com stating my service was active until sometime today while I was at work, and the phone came a few hours later.

I'm dying to start setting up all my emails. Google maps is darn cool, anything else a newbie to Blackberry should be checking out as far as cool links or programs?

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~i have tmo and the email is included I'm the 20 bis plan. Watch out when you use the I'm clients tmop charges each as a text message

Thank goodness for this website, otherwise I wouldn't have known that. It's pretty bad of T-mobile to put on a client that uses SMS. I'm guessing that because it uses SMS, it's probably much less of a battery draw, huh? It doesn't have to constantly keep the phone transmitting. Maybe that was their reasoning?

So is IM+ really the only all in one solution that uses data?

Anyhow, I am still waiting on my phone to allow me to set up email. When I go to my.t-mobile.com it still says my number is not recognized. It says it could take up to 72 hours, should I keep waiting or try calling CS?

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~Other I'm programs that use data instead of SMS are Verichat and Ramble. Verichat is for AIM, Yahoo!, ICQ, MSN, and GoogleTalk and Ramble is for AIM only. I personally like Verichat the best. I assume by now your internet is working, but if not call Customer Care and have them send service books and register your handheld. Also, anytime you call, ask to speak to a Blackberry Rep, they are specifically trained for BBs and know a ton more than the rgular reps.

Well, I talked to them the other day and it turned out they had a server problem affecting new accounts. Working like a champ now!

I am a new T-Mobile customer, just bought the 8100, and have the same 1000 anytime and $20 BB add on plans.

I did the deal at a kiosk and was told I had unlimited text messaging as part of the BB add on. This is NOT TRUE! Text messages are not included in the $49.99 voice plan or the $19.99 BB add on.

I learned this when speaking to a T-Mobile service rep who cleared things up. For $4.99 I get 400 text or picture messages a month.

If I would not have found The Stacks I would have had a nasty little surprise on my first bill.

This place rocks.
